Meet the Production Team
Erin Lee Shields is a Sophomore Acting Major with an independent focus in direction and an aspiration to extend her directorial studies into graduate school following her time with Shenandoah Conservatory. Hornets’ Nest’s Production of WORKING serves as her collegiate directorial debut and she couldn’t be more appreciative for it. The student work environment so heavily present among the student population has equipped her with an unwavering sense of support and community throughout this entire process. It has revitalized her love for theatre and those who dedicate their lives to do it. It continues to amplify the importance of creative autonomy, expression, organization, and collaboration among young artists both in front and behind the table from every discipline eager to contribute. Because of this, she wants to extend her deepest thanks for coming out and supporting this product of student work while also urging you to continue to do so in any capacity possible as it is so crucial to any educational theatre atmosphere. These things, at their core, are what theatre is about and having the support to instill it while we continue to learn is so important.
Josh Tregre (He/Him) is a musician & pianist making his conducting debut with WORKING! Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he is a current second year student at Shenandoah University pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre Accompanying. He has been a part of the conservatory’s theatrical productions as pit pianist for TUCK EVERLASTING (Shenandoah conservatory) and THE APPLE TREE (Shenandoah conservatory), among others. He was also assistant music director and piano/conductor for REEFER MADNESS with Hornets’ Nest, where he holds a place on the board as Music Representative. Josh has quite a few people he would like to extend his utmost thanks to: First, his co-music director Cameron Edmiston for all of their incredible work and dedication during this process. Second, the relentlessly talented cast for their flexibility, passion, and willingness to work harder and harder every single day. Lastly, to Erin Shields for being not only the loveliest person, but also the most extremely brilliant director and collaborator.
Cameron Reid Edmiston [he/they] is beyond excited to make his full-length music direction debut with Josh Tregre and the rest of the cast & orchestra. Cameron is a collaborative pianist from Wooster, Ohio currently pursing a Bachelor of Music in Music Theatre Accompanying here at SU. Cameron has stepped into many roles behind the piano here at Shenandaoh Conservatory, with favorites including assistant music director for HAIR with Patrick Brady, assistant music director for Tuck Everlasting (directed by Micheal Park), composer/arranger for Liaisons: Sondheim Re-imagined and pianist for The Bridges of Madison County (Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre).
When not busy in the practice room or theatre, Cameron enjoys songwriting, hiking, bicycling, and collecting records. They would like to thank Hornets' Nest for the opportunity, Erin Shields for her endless and creative inspiration, Josh Tregre for being an amazing "partner in crime," faculty members Patrick Brady and Jonathan Newman for their support, and their family for their continuous love. Enjoy the show!
Evan Gray (he/him) is a Freshman Musical Theatre major from Jacksonville, FL (DUUUVAL). He has had a blast "Working" with this incredible cast and creative team as Assistant Music Director and Guitarist, as well as being the assistant to the choreographer, Naja Bates. He thanks Hornets Nest for this amazing opportunity, his friends and family, and Stephen Sondheim.
Naja Bates is a Sophomore Musical Theatre major and is excited to announce that this is her first time choreographing for a show on her own! Often choreographing her own tap solos, and this year, getting the opportunity to co-choreograph "Carousel" in the winter, Naja has come to the realization that choreography is another way she is able to express her love of dance through other performers. With elements of street jazz and hip hop, she was able to put so much of herself into this piece. She wants to thank Erin Shields for trusting her ideas and creating such a joyful space, her teachers and family who constantly inspire her, and Evan Gray for being the best 'co-choreographer' she could ever ask for. She has enjoyed getting to see the cast bring her choreo to life, and can't wait for next time!
